Standard 5: The student will examine and perform music from a variety of stylistic and historical periods and cultures.
Indicator MGH1-5.2: Classify and define by genre and style exemplary characteristics of musical works from diverse cultures and time periods, naming the title, composer, and historical period or culture.

Lesson Objectives
- Music appreciation students will correctly classify online sources by historical era as determined by “Music History Time Periods” handout sheet.
- Using Symbaloo.com, music appreciation students will construct webmixes categorizing online music resources into proper historical eras. These webmixes will follow proper formatting as listed on the project assignment handout.
- Using Google and other approved search engines, music appreciation students will perform appropriate Internet searches for information and media related to eras of music history. Success will be demonstrated through the creation of appropriate Symbaloo webmixes.
