Tutorial #1: Symbaloo
Symbaloo is a web-based visual bookmarking tool enabling educators the ability to create webmixes on any instructional topic and share with their classes. This easy to use but robust tool makes the task of organizing web content so much easier. The simple interface is also easy for students to understand and for teachers to create, even if the teacher is a technology novice. The teacher can use Symbaloo to share websites and web resources of their choosing, or can make the assignment more interactive by having their classes create webmixes based on a particular topic. Because it is web-based, Symbaloo solves the common problems of bookmarking websites such as being difficult to organize effectively or an inability to sync various bookmarks across multiples browsers and computers. In this tutorial, the basic features of Symbaloo are highlighted and the teacher is shown how to set up a basic Symbaloo webmix from scratch.
